renting vs buying has always been a big question....renting/leasing is basically tossing your money out the window. If you plan on staying put for a long time I would buy--if you dont plan on staying for a long time then no.

to get you some credit history, and most people cant afford a big frickin' house when they are starting out, so you buy a nice small place (starter) to get some credit under your belt ...and then you have kids and find out that a 2 bedroom home aint big enough, so you buy up (or you do what my sister did and just keep trading up --buy a house and stay for a year, then buy a bigger house the next year ...repeat...think she has had more than 30 houses!)
